As an important heat conducting part of continuous casting, the quality of copper plate of mold accessories directly affects the surface quality of billet and the drawing speed of continuous casting machine. Therefore, we need to take some methods to ensure its wear resistance, which can prolong the service life of the whole equipment and improve the working quality.
Here are some methods as following:
1. metal electroplated coating, According to the combination of deposited metal elements, metal coatings can be divided into single metal coatings, alloy metal coatings and composite coatings. Alloy coatings were developed on the basis of single metal coatings by adding metals with different properties. Composite coatings with excellent properties can be obtained by adding second phase particles into metals or alloys. There are Ni coating, Ni-Cr coating, Co-Ni coating, Ni-Fe-W coating, etc.
2. Spraying layer. The spraying layer can be obtained on the workpiece surface by thermal spraying technology. The specific method is to heat the spraying material to the molten or semi molten state, atomize and accelerate it with high-speed air flow, and spray it on the workpiece surface at high speed. The spraying layer materials include powder, filamentous metal, cermet and other solids. After processing, metal alloy layer, ceramic coating and cermet coating can be formed.
3. Laser cladding layer. Laser cladding layer is irradiated by high-energy laser beam. The material melts, expands and solidifies rapidly. After complex physical, chemical and metallurgical changes, a layer of composite material with special chemical and mechanical properties is formed on the surface of the substrate.
