4 Spray device
The distribution of this section of cooling water is very important. The billet shell just out of the mold is relatively thin, and weak cooling is likely to cause steel breakout. If the cooling is too strong, sometimes defects such as internal cracks may occur; if the cooling is unevenly distributed, defects such as missing squares, dents, and longitudinal cracks are likely to occur. The spray device usually uses 2 to 3 rows of flat nozzles.
