What’s Steel Billet production process?
The billet is the product obtained after the molten steel made by the steelmaking furnace is cast. Steel billets can be mainly divided into two types from the manufacturing process: die casting billets and continuous casting billets. The die casting process has been basically eliminated.
There are two main types in terms of appearance:
Slab: The ratio of cross-section width to height is large, and it is mainly used for rolling plate.
Billet: The cross-section width and height are equal, or the difference is not big, and it is mainly used for rolling section steel and wire rod.
Steel billets are produced through three processes:
One is to directly cast billets from molten steel through the continuous casting equipment of the steelmaking system;
The second is the semi-finished steel products processed by the steel ingots or continuous casting billets produced by the steelmaking system through the rolling equipment of the steel rolling system;
The third is the semi-finished products processed by forging equipment from the steel ingots produced by the steelmaking system.

In continuous casting, low corrosion resistance often occurs, which directly leads to uneven composition and will eventually affect the smelting quality. In or
