The Copper mould tube is the heart of the continuous casting machine. Its quality directly determines the quality of the cast billet and the amount of steel passed. At present, the metal mould materials of TP2、CuAgare widely used in the manufacture of copper mould tubes. The metal Cu-Cr-Zr is a kind of copper alloys which can be normalized by time. It has excellent mechanical property under both room temperature and high temperature. It has high heat conductivity, melting point, anti-fatigue and anti heat stress properties. These outstanding features make it difffferent from the previous copper alloys. But it has not been widely used because of its high cost.

The new Cu-Cr-Zrmaterial has high strength and hardness, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and its mechanical properties are much higher than the commonly used mold copper tube materials. Meanwhile, the price is lower. It has been promoted and used in domestic and foreign markets.
