In market, the briquettes electrode paste are widely promoted, while the columnar electrode paste are left out. It is because you know little about columnar shape application and merits.
Regarding the use of electrode pastes, both in China and abroad, in terms of shape, there are mainly three shapes: trapezoidal (block) electrode paste, goose egg electrode paste, and columnar electrode paste.
But usually there exists bias to the columnar electrode paste, because briquettes electrode paste are applied more in the ferroalloys industry.
The biases are, e.g.the columnar electrode paste’s existence is not necessary because no matter what shape, they finally need to be melt;the production for columnar needs molds and what’s more, with much longer production time;the application area for columnar electrode paste is not as wide as briquettes electrode paste,etc.
But here I will testify, all the above biases to columnar electrode paste are totally wrong!
The existence and development of columnar electrode paste is necessary. Compared with trapezoidal electrode paste and goose egg electrode paste, columnar electrode paste has greater advantages in mechanical automation control. The columnar electrode paste is more conducive to controlling the height of the paste surface. The height of the paste surface has a great influence on the sintering of the electrode paste and the electrode performance on the furnace. The controllable height of paste means that the problem of under-burning or over-burning of the electrode can be avoided with greater probability.
As far as ferroalloy equipment is heading towards higher power and more intensive trends, columnar electrode pastes have a considerable market. Better mechanization and higher automation mean that the columnar electrode paste is more widely used.
