1. Dimensions and deviations
Deviation indicators include wall thickness and outer diameter, which cannot exceed the standard range, otherwise it will affect the pressure and assembly.
2. Chemical composition
We all know that when purchasing copper pipes, the standard stipulates that copper + silver must not be fixed at 99.90%, otherwise it will seriously affect the service life of the pipes.
3. Mechanical performance inspection-tensile strength and elongation
ASTM B88-M type pipes need to be tested for tensile strength, and EN1057-X type pipes need to increase the test items for elongation.
4. Water pressure test and eddy current flaw detection
The hydraulic test is carried out at 1.5 times the maximum working pressure of the pipe (which can be calculated or checked from the standard). ASTM stipulates that copper pipes below 80mm must pass eddy current flaw detection.
5. Surface quality
The inner and outer walls of the pipe should be smooth and clean, and there should be no defects such as delamination, blisters, and cracks. However, slight scratches and slight oxidation that do not exceed the wall thickness deviation are not used as a basis for scrapping.
When requested by the ordering party, the inner surface of the pipe shall pass the carbon layer test. Applicable to high quality requirements of water supply, such as direct drinking water pipes, etc.
